Lofoten Tourism Futures: Actors and Strategies

The research project Arctic Games: Interactive development and application of a transdisciplinary framework for sustainable governance options of Arctic natural resources has completed the report Lofoten Tourism Futures: Actors and Strategies (Fabritius and Sandberg 2012).

The report by Merete Kvamme Fabritius and Audun Sandberg at University of Nordland, Bodø (Norway) was presented at a joint research seminar at the Nordland Research Institute & University of Nordland.

The historical and cultural background for the Lofoten tourism as a typical Arctic tourism case is analyzed in this report. The emergence of a unique tourist-cluster consisting of accommodation, cultural heritage, excitement and local-food enterprises are explained.
